Defenders of the rights of Black people in New Brunswick

We are dedicated to advocating for the protection of the rights of Black individuals in New Brunswick, in alignment with the United Nations’ directives concerning the Decade for People of African Descent. Our mission is rooted in promoting equality, combating racial discrimination, and advancing social justice to ensure that the diverse voices and experiences of those of African heritage in our community are heard, respected, and celebrated.

Mission
We advocate relentlessly for the rights and well-being of people of African descent, in line with the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent.
Vision
A world where individuals of African descent flourish with equal rights, free from discrimination, and celebrating their cultural richness.
Values
Our core values revolve around equity, justice, inclusion, collaboration, and empowerment, shaping our steadfast commitment.

Our origins are diverse, our heritage is plural and our commitment is shared.

Who we represent

CPPAANB represents and defends the collective interests of Black people and people of African descent, whether French- or English-speaking. This representation includes the province’s historic Black communities and their descendants, notably the descendants of Black Loyalists and of enslaved people, as well as the communities that came from contemporary African migrations and diasporas.

Where we come from

Our mission brings together people from the countries of the African continent, the Caribbean and other regions of the world where people of African descent live. We also recognize people born in Canada and the generations who, over time, have contributed to the history and development of New Brunswick.

What brings us together

Beyond borders and nationalities, we are committed to celebrating the diversity of our origins, gaining recognition for our contributions and defending the rights, dignity and full participation of Black people and people of African descent in New Brunswick society.
